Greg was born and raised in Vacaville.

Greg Ritchie is proud and fortunate to be born and raised in Vacaville. He can still remember when Vacaville was less than 36,000 people and the landscape looked worlds apart from its current appearance. He can remember attending the Onion festivals in Pena Adobe park, Fiesta Days on Buck Ave, and visiting the Historic Nut tree. Greg’s mother was an educator and became the Special Education principal for Solano County Office of Education. Greg’s father worked in real estate in Solano County for 27 years after proudly serving as a United States Air Force Pilot through Vietnam and was later stationed at Travis Air Force base.

Greg attended elementary school, middle school, and high school in Vacaville where he developed lifelong friendships. Lifelong participation in athletics has taught Greg that hard work, focusing on a positive goal, and striving to attain a positive end result is paramount in life. Greg played college football for Eastern New Mexico University, and then went on to graduate at California State University Long Beach where he majored in Business & Sociology. While in Los Angeles, he met his future wife, Melissa, and after they married, they moved back to Vacaville, where they are raising their two children, Joslyn (8) and Jadon (6).

Greg’s real estate financial career started almost immediately in Los Angeles, CA. He began his own mortgage brokerage in 2012 and opened his first office in downtown Vacaville. Since then, his brokerage has grown to 2 additional locations and employs over 20 people. His company serves all Californians, but has a unique focus on working with public safety, peace officers, firefighters and educators.

Greg also has a passion for education and is currently serving as a Board member for Kairos Public Schools. In his spare time, Greg volunteers with the Vacaville Veterans Hall American Legion Post 165 and enjoys coaching youth sports for his own children, including soccer, basketball, and football.

As a small business owner, he understands the needs of the Vacaville business community. Greg is running for Vacaville City Council because he knows that public safety, small business support and community connection are critical for Vacaville to continue to thrive.
